Google Transliteration IME is an input method editorwhich allows users to enter text in one of the supported languages using a roman board. Users can type a word the way it sounds using Latin characters and Google Transliteration IME will convert the word to its native script. More than one language of input tools can be installed on the same client machine.2. By default this window will be placed at the bottom-right corner of the desktop, but can be dragged to any other part of the screen as well. The status window contains configuration options for the currently selected input tool. It includes three to five icons (depending on the language and ftures available), with the appliion icon at the far left. Next to the appliion icon, in order, are the Input Tools language indior, the board button (not present for some languages), the canonical mode button (only present if you havecanonical schemesassociated with the input tool) and the menu button.Edit window (Candidate list)When Input Tools is enabled for an appliion, it displays a window with the typed text and the corresponding word choices in the input language. In the below example, user has typed'googl'and the input tool has displayed five choices (ed 1 to 5). This window is sometimes called a 'candidate list'.Navigation and selectionThe currently selected (highlighted) candidate in the edit window is thctive choice. The active choice can be changed by using theBOTTOM-ARROWorTAB to move down the selection, or theUP-ARROWorSHIFT+TAB to move up. To select one of the choices for input, use theENTER which inserts the active choice at the current cursor position. Using theSPACE or any otherPUNCTUATION CHARACTERalso inserts the active choice, along with the typed punctuation character (unless the punctuation character matches one or more candidate suggestions). To insert any candidate, even if not the active choice, type its position as in:CTRL+ [choice_].Word completionsThe choices displayed in edit window will appr in eitherBLACKorBLUE. Literal matches for what was typed are displayed in BLACK, and will always be grouped in front. If there are better dictionary-basedword completionsfor what was typed, those choices are displayed in BLUE and placed behind.PagingThe input tools only display five choices in the edit window by default (these five choices comprise apage). If there are more candidates, additional choices are displayed on the next page. To page up or down, use the small arrow buttons at the right side of the edit window, or use thePage UpandPage Down. Using the arrow orTAB to navigate choices will also move to the next or previous page when the active choice is at the start or end of the edit window. You can configure the of choices displayed per page by clicking the status window's menu button.SrchClicking on the Google logo in the edit window will srch the web for the active/highlighted choice using Google.com. Srch can also be triggered for any non-active choice by right-clicking, and then clicking theSrch…option.User cacheIn some circumstances, the initial active choice is the best option (in the example below, the second choice was the desired option).To make input sier over time, Google Input Tools remembers previous selections and improves the order of candidates. To share this information across all appliions for a user, this personalization is maintained for ch user account on the computer. This personalization can be disabled by using the 'Disable User Cache' option, available from the menu button on the status window. Note that caching (personalization) does not apply for word completions shown in BLUE, only for word choices shown in BLACK.Switch to EnglishThe input tools can be switched on or off sily, allowing fast changes between typing in the input tool language and typing in English. To enable or disable the current input tool, click the input tool language button in the status window or use the board shortcutsCTRL+GorF12.boardFor some rare or complex words, the input choices given may not include the intended word or phrase. In these situations, the flexible board allows input of any possible word. To open the flexible board, click the board button on status window or by using the board shortcutCTRL+K. To enter characters, you can either type on your physical board or use the mouse to pick on the flexible board. You can hide/show the on-screen board by clicking the up/down arrow on status window. It can be closed by clicking the board button again on status window, or by using the shortcutCTRL+KorESC.CustomizationYou can customize many ftures in the Google Input Tools menu.
